Parking
Edwalton Church does not have a car park, however there is on-street parking on the roads around the church. We ask that you park carefully and be mindful of maintaining access for our neighbours at all times.
Accessibility
Care is advised on the path to the church as this is old and uneven in places due to the trees.
Church
The church has two entrances:
RECOMMENDED - West Door (the first doors on the left as you come down the path)
This is the easiest access for wheelchair users - the double doors can be fully opened and there is step-free access to the meeting room, accessible toilet, offices and the chancel.
South Door
This is the main entrance, mainly used for larger services such as weddings and funerals. The path has a gentle slope and can be used with a wheelchair however inside there are steps — a small step down to the seating area and three steps up to the chancel, toilets and other rooms. Step-free access to the upper part of the church is not available from this entrance.
Communion is normally by going forward to the Altar to receive, however, the celebrants are very happy to come to you at your seat— just let one of team know and they will arrange this.
The church has 2 wheelchairs which are available for use if required.
Edwalton Church is a very old church, so the building configuration has some limitations. We always welcome suggestions to improve accessibility.
Garden
Follow the entrance path straight ahead - do not turn left toward the main entrance of the church. You will pass under an arch and into the garden.
The garden footpaths are wheelchair-accessible, and seating is available around the garden. Recently opened by lifelong wheelchair user Hannah, the gardens can now be enjoyed by everyone.
Graveyard
The graveyard does not have marked pathways, making access more challenging.
